The rise in Bitcoin value has more than quintupled in the last few months. Since July the price went from around $2000 to peaking at $20,000 in mid-December, creating a lot of excitement--along with some trepidation--in the cryptocurrency world. One man who does not seem to be too worried is Standpoint Research founder Ronnie Moas, a well-known figure in crypto circles for his knowledge of Bitcoin and other high profile cryptocurrencies.
Moas surmises that global uncertainty in both local governments and currencies will create a mass influx of new crypto users. He predicts money presently being deposited into stocks, bonds, and even gold will eventually be put into crypto within the next decade. But it is not only those who can afford to buy stocks and bonds that he envisions diving into crypto waters. Those who stash away money in coffee cans or under mattresses out of fear of an unstable economy all over the world are also potential users in his view. With only approximately 21 million bitcoin out there and roughly 300 million users, he feels the price of Bitcoin could possibly soar over the $400,000 mark.
Although not everyone shares his views of the future of cryptocurrency, Moas remains confident. He was recently quoted in an interview with CNBC as stating “I don’t know how much gold there is in the ground, but I know how much Bitcoin there is, and in two years there will be 300 million people trying to get their hands on a few million Bitcoin. This mind boggling supply and imbalance demand is what is going to drive the price higher.” Ronnie Moas is a confidant man, indeed. He has vision of the future that is clear and one day soon the rest of the world, if they are smart, will follow his example.
